The connection between obesity and unhealthy food is that it tastes better than healthy food. Because of this most people prefer unhealthy food than fruits or vegetables. There are three types of food one can eat in today's society, there are plants, animals and processed food. Obesity wasn't a big problem until the appearance processed foods which was around 70 years ago. Before most people ate plants but today some people only eat processed foods. This can lead to obesity and other unhealthy effects. People don't usually choose a healthy, natural food option because it might not be as good as a processed food and choosing a processed food is much simpler.

For example a man is choosing a snack for work.He has the choice between making a bag of sliced fruits or taking a bag of chips. He thinks which is more convenient, he would have to make the sliced fruit and that would take time, on the other hand the chips are ready to go and ready to eat, so he chose to take the chips. This is the thought process of most people when deciding what to eat. Another connection between obesity and unhealthy food is an emotional connection to food. Such as someone could be having a bad day but they're looking forward to the pizza, burger, or chicken nuggets they are going to eat later on. This then becomes a regular thing because they have a lot of bad days. Then this person is not eating healthy and gain or become obese because all they want to eat is what makes them happy and feel good. This is one of the main reasons why people are obese.
